AI-based tutoring software is a powerful tool for supporting individual learning. However, prior studies suggest that teachers also want to customize parts of the software — in other words, AI-based tutoring software should ideally allow for flexibility in various ways. As an effort to add flexibility to our diagram tutors, we developed a tool that teachers can use to generate their own tape diagrams for whatever equation you type in, as far as it meets certain criteria (e.g., no negative numbers).
